I came across this idyllic scene at Hanalei Bay and had to capture it, just a boy, busy at the beach without a care in the world.
I enjoy painting candid photos of children at the beach involved in their task, having fun. I never paint faces, because the art is meant to be a feeling in a moment, not a portrait.
This painting inspired many commissions by parents and grandparents alike for beach day photos turned into Kaua’i art.
