Morning Light at Hanalei
Waimea Cottage
Sweet Light
Sweet light is experienced just after sunrise and just before sunset. The sun hung low in the sky creates an awe inspiring display of mother nature’s beauty, bringing new hues to your surroundings. Often a time of reflection as the day begins or comes to a close we innately know something so special surrounds ourContinue reading “Sweet Light”
Heliconia Rostrata
This painting found her forever home right here on Kaua’i. Heliconia Rostrata was an exploration in bouncing light, dynamic color and atmosphere. Setting straight lines against soft curves. Placing cool colors next to warm to create vibration. A happy painting indeed! The funds from the sale went directly to provide meals on Kaua’i through theContinue reading “Heliconia Rostrata”
Nā Pali Coast
Breathtaking Nā Pali Coast is only accessible by boat or hiking in. Kaua’i is a lush beautiful island and the Napali Coast is her crowning jewel.
Plantation Cottage
This is one of the charming Waimea Cottages here on Kaua’i. These little cottages are a part of Kaua’i history that is slowly disappearing now that the sugar cane industry has closed down here. I have a few favorites I like to paint under the shade of tree.
Waikoko
Waikoko is a piece I did in the studio from a plein air study. I was fortunate enough to join to a group plein air painters from the Northshore of Kaua’i at this location. What a great day! I would love to go back and paint this scene again!
Tree Tunnel
I remember painting this iconic scene for the first time, not knowing that it would be my most sought after Artwork and become my signature piece. This tunnel that connects the south side of Kaua’i always felt like coming home to me. The magical nature of the light, color and the trees holding hands aboveContinue reading “Tree Tunnel”
Beach Day
I came across this idyllic scene at Hanalei Bay and had to capture it, just a boy, busy at the beach without a care in the world. I enjoy painting candid photos of children at the beach involved in their task, having fun. I never paint faces, because the art is meant to be aContinue reading “Beach Day”
